August features the sounds of South African trumpeter Darren English, who has been called a bright new voice and a force to be reckoned with on the jazz scene. On his debut album, Imagine Nation, English pays tribute to Nelson Mandela, in addition to reworking classic standards. For more details about Darren English, check out this album review.
Seating for Friday Jazz is limited and opens at 6 p.m. There is no reserved seating. Standing room is plentiful.
